Asbestos

Commercial building or residential owners can find themselves in need regarding regulatory compliance  when renovating and/or demolishing their property. CJEC is equipped to assist with all asbestos regulatory compliance needs such as asbestos surveys, abatement designs, project specifications, project management, and air monitoring.

Buildings within the State of Texas are at risk of containing asbestos containing building materials. Both Federal and State laws and regulations mandate that the building owners properly assess and manage the potential presence of asbestos containing materials (ACM). CJEC can help provide professional asbestos consulting services to help protect the building owner, tenants, and the environment.

Asbestos Abatement Design, Project Management, and Air Monitoring

At CJEC our inspectors will perform surveys and collect samples of suspect ACM in commercial, industrial, hospitals, schools, residential, and municipal buildings. Our surveys follow strict guidelines established by the EPA Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) program, and as required by 40 CFR Part 61 – National Emissions Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP).

If asbestos containing materials are found within a building, and a management plan is needed to specify procedures for operating and working safely around the materials, then CJEC can help in preparing the specific documents needed. Our management plans include operations and maintenance (O&M) programs that explain how to protect the building occupants such as the maintenance and housekeeping personnel and tenants.

CJEC has extensive experience in preparing project designs and specifications for abatement activities such as partial or complete removal. Our abatement designs will provide locations and conditions of contaminated materials along with the scope of work. Specifications will detail the standard methods required for removal and disposal of ACM. The abatement design and specification creates a bidding document for your preferred abatement contractors. CJEC can also provide trained, licensed, and certified technicians for project management and air monitoring during the asbestos abatement process.
